Really like the idea of getting a nice charcoal/medium grey corner sofa for our lounge. It needs to be comfortable, practical and be in a material and colour that is suitable with young kids. Any recommendations please?

I went sofa shopping just after Christmas and by far the shop selling the best sofas (in my opinion) was sofology. Have a look on their website, I recall seeing several that fit your criteria.

I really rate Ikea sofas. I've had 3 different versions from there and all have been excellent. Especially the post-kids ones with removable, washable covers!

I love our John Lewis sofa.

I love our sofa from Nabru, they do corner sofas that are practically made to fit your room. They arrive flat pack and you can either construct yourself or pay the delivery driver to do it (it took us a few hours to do ours)
Our sofa is about 4 years old and still looks good and is really comfy
They have a few showrooms but mostly operate online

I have just checked the sofology website and I have my eye on a few. Bit expensive, but sooooo nice. Me thinks I am going to have to do some serious saving! There were a couple in Next that I liked, anyone rate them?

We bought ours from made.com and love them - we have the Ariana and Sofia both in grey.

We have a beautiful leather m&s sofa which is probably 13 years old now and going strong.

Ah I was just going to say not M & S! The springs went on ours after a few years and it's incredibly uncomfortable now. If they hadn't gone bust, Multiyork was as good as you could get, but I really couldnt recommend M & S. Our Multiyork has proper hessian underneath and has lasted many years, the M & S one has cheap plastic pretend hessian.

I clicked on this thread to see where to go for a replacement for the M& S ones - shall be watching with interest.

That's interesting! We also had a fabric sofa bed from there which 12 years on was still going strong...we had to ditch it though as it was just getting totally trashed by kids, dog etc

Sofology are owned by DFS and there are a lot of customers who are disgruntled with their aftersale services.

We saw a beautiful sofa in Costco. It was a corner sofa & took us by surprise as usually not our style but it was so comfy & a brilliant price. Fabric & a grey colour. However, when we got home we measured out with masking tape & to our dismay, the sofa wouldn't of fit in our living room, tried it every way we could but it would either mean squeezing past one end to walk through or having one corner squashed up to the tv! So we just had to accept we couldn't have it! Anyway, we had a quick look in SCS, but we couldn't find anything that felt comfortable, then I remembered siting on one in Ikea, some months ago. So we nipped there & they no longer had it! However! By chance another one took us by surprise! A real surprise! A cream leather one, never would I of thought in a thousand years would we have gone for cream (it's off white) but for the price & the comfiness, we had to have it! It looks brill, fits perfect & is just right, better still it was delivered the next day, self assembly but it was pretty much straight forward. Worth having a trip there.

We’re pleased with our DFS Mahiki corner sofa.

Depends on your budget.

Had an M&S corner sofa that was saggy after 4 years. John Lewis reviews seem similar.

IKEA great for the money and they'll replace a dud. Got a 2 seater ikea landskrona sofa and the arm broke within a few days. Was replaced no problem.

I bought a leather sofa from Sofology about 18 months ago and have never been happy with it. I got a 3 & 2 and although the 2 seater is fine, the 3 seater in my opinion is a joke. I have had someone out to look at it thinking that it wasn't filled enough but apparently and looks normal...safe to say I'm not happy with the aftersales. This has put me off buying from them again. I have owned a leather sofa from Reids for 8 years and it didn't look worn at all.

I've got a fabric Natuzzi 'Livata' corner sofa in the 'Levante' colourway [medium dark grey] from Barker & Stonehouse. Had it 1 year 3 months and it's still very comfy and has kept its shape well with a 9 and 6 year old regularly throwing themselves onto it.
I got chocolate on the seat the very same day it had been delivered. I was mortified but it actually wiped straight off with minimal effort ... Husband reckons if it had been him who had got chocolate on it he wouldn't have lived to tell the tale ha ha!
