‘Bland’ living room

I have not been blessed with any interior design creativity 🙈

We have a long thin living room in a new build house (cream walls at the moment). Looking for any inspiration of colour combinations or ways to make our living room feel like home. Our curtains and sofa are a mix of creams and greys.

I would inject some warmth with cushions and artwork.
Have a look at Laura Ashley or TK Maxx
Mix up textures like silks and velvets and maybe a bit of pattern.
A sumptuous rug to bring it all together.
Think jewel colours like plums/greens/teals/mustards.
