Dtds are getting too big for cotbeds, but I would like to use bigger beds as option for grandparents staying over
Can anyone recommend a zip and link? One I found online was over £6k ShockShock

Me and hubby have a super king sized that is zip and link. It was from John Lewis and made to order so took a while but it's the comfiest bed. Going away we never have a bed as comfy and always look forward to the 'sleeping in your own bed' even more than we should! It wasn't cheap as was one of their natural fiber ranges but 100 percent worth it and the zip bit doesn't interfere at all.

Have a look on Hotel Contact beds. Their beds are SO comfortable.

@loveka are you able to recommend any in particular? I'm about to buy beds for a holiday let property so any recommendations from there would be so useful as they seem such good value!

Can I join this? We have a spare and many times will be a couple (and elderly). But also kids from the same and different families. Sooo...easiest to join and separate and enjoy the result. Both ways?! Not overly bothered about the money but don't want loveable (with each other) guests, falling down the crack so to speak!

Lady G, I have only ever had the one I've got now from John Lewis and me and hubby haven't ever found an issue with the gap in the middle, we do have a mattress topper over the whole thing anyway (but not for that reason). I've got a medium mattress and he's got a firm one- heaven!

LadyG - there is no gap/crack. The mattresses are zipped together and the bases are bolted together. And it’s heaven if you sleep with a fidget who moves around all night long in their sleep.

We used a local bed factory company who made it to order for just under £1k, but we did look at John Ryan online.

We have a mattress topper over ours so just one of those quilted ones, not a big padded thing. You can't really feel the zip and it sort of tucks down between the mattresses under the piping.

We couldn't get a 6ft mattress up the stairs so zip and link was the easiest option.

We have divan bases and they are literally held together with a U shaped clip, well several of them, so it is fairly easy to take them apart, you just have to tip the bed to access them. Ds1 helped me do this when we had new carpet.

We love our bed. It is so comfy.

Hypnos sublime zip and link so each of us has a mattress to suit our body size as I’m quite tiny (5’2 and small frame) whereas DH is 6’ and 14 st. I have a medium tension and he has firm. No issue with the zip and easy to undo and turn the mattresses. Fab mattress topper from the wool room and we have the best bed ever!
