Blinds or curtains in the kitchen... Or can I have a mixture of both?

My kitchen has one wall which opens out onto the garden with fairly narrow French doors, more like a slightly larger than normal doorway size containing two narrow doors.

The same wall also has a window, neither huge nor small, maybe 1 metre across.

We're doing some decorating and the question of curtains vs blinds has come up.

Should we do blinds including a door blind, or curtains, or should we get a blind on the window and curtain on the door?

Would a mix look weird? Would curtains on both look awful? Or blinds? Opinions please!

Is it purely to dress the windows or will you want to be closing them? Roman blinds would look lovely on both but a curtain and Roman in matching material in the same room works too, just make sure you hang them from the same height. Does the door open inwards or out?

They will be closed but not every single night, its more of a winter thing to enable me to prance around inside with the lights on

I like Roman blinds, I think I'd prefer Roman to Roller in the window. I'm not sure about Roman on the door though, wouldn't it flap about lots?

Doors open outwards

How do i hang them from the same height as the windows unless the top of door and top of windows are level?! I don't understand! They look like they probably are level from my pic but I don't know tbh

I had existing curtains altered to fit French doors but didn't have enough material for curtains for the window beside. I did have enough for a Roman blind though and I think it looks great.

I don't know about curtains in kitchens, not so keen myself....

How about concertina blinds, you can get them to clip into the frames on the french doors. They open upwards or downwards, and don't flap about.

I'm in a similar position so following for more opinions. DH wants curtains for more warmth but I'm not sure they look good

Curtains for door and roman blind for window.
You have a radiator under the window so a blind is better. Will be fine.
