My sister has just bought her first flat. She needs to replace the horrible stained carpet tiles throughout the flat. She's getting carpet for the bedroom, but the living room/kitchen/diner are all one room, so she wants a flooring that would work for that room & the bathroom and tiny hallway. It's ground floor, so no worries about noise with a hard floor.
She can't afford anything expensive like engineered wood, so the options are probably laminate, lino/vinyl or ceramic tiles. She's not sure if any of these would really work - e.g. laminate probably not ok for wet areas, but lino or tiles might not work in the living area. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am thinking lino might be the best option as not too cold for a living area but seems to come in quite a big range of designs, but not sure she could afford the 'posh' versions - Karndean, etc.
Any ideas please for what might work and not cost too much?
