With some recent room changes, we are now going to get a sofa bed for a small room for guests to use.

I need (sofa) bed that is easy to pull out and use and also comfortable for guests to sleep on (we have many guests!)

I would love some recommendations.

I have seen one at Ikea www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/beds/guest-beds-day-beds/tarva-day-bed-with-2-mattresses-pine-moshult-firm-spr-49185361/ which i like because it comes with a proper mattress (and is relatively inexpensive)

For looks i like the danish minimal style like this one at John Lewis - (but its £££'s) but would love to know your experiences of sofa beds (which I am reluctantly agreeing to instead of just getting a small double bed)

We have the tarva bed, it’s brilliant. The bed is a bit firm but fine for a night or two. Very easy to get out. Get individual sheets for the two mattresses though (ikea sells the right size) as they’re a funny shape to get a fitted sheet for. I like that the bed is ready as it is for one person to sleep on (sometimes helpful if dh has an early shift or one person comes to stay).

We have the ikea freiheten(sp?) as our main sofa in the front room and absolutely love it. So easy to pull out and comfy too. Would that work?

Thanks for that - good to know the two ikea options get a thumbs up!

TheChatsPyjamas - we can go for the "medium mattress" on the Tarva which felt better - thanks for heads up on sheets if we get it. - and yes often just have a single person who can then use it - is it okay for two people to sleep on?

whoami - it might be too big for the small space, but can measure it up - really want comfort for guests! So good to know that yours is comfy.

It’s great as a double! We’re really happy with it, our main guest is mil and it’s so nice we can leave it set up for her. We have the friheten downstairs and find it much less comfy for two (the seat part is good but he pull out part less so) and it’s a small double

The John Lewis one looks really good!
We are looking for similar for the extra bedroom.

Has anyone used the JL one?
