Where can I buy reasonably priced blinds or curtains for extra large Windows?

Just got keys for house move. Carpeted the house now need to put blinds or curtains up before I move in. Where can I buy reasonably priced blinds or curtains to fit my Windows? Ideally would be somewhere that could deliver any Advice would be very much appreciated

I bought ours from Argos, Dunelm also do wide ones in a variety of lengths but the Argos ones are cheap and cheerful for when you've just moved in. Ours are thin enough to see through in bright light which means we don't have to have nets because we just leave them closed, still get plenty of light but cool in the heat we've been having. They do blackout ones too though if you would rather, and all the poles etc you need for fairly cheap.

IKEA - they do huge curtains that you take down to size yourself.

I measured myself and used Blinds 2 go but there are a few very similar companies. You can order samples of fabrics.

Saves you loads, but of course you need to measure carefully. And fit yourself.

If it's a large window you are sitting by or north facing etc you could go for thermal lined blinds. I think roman blinds are the nicest.

I have black out roller blinds on my bedrooms ( and curtains) but unless you get ones that go into a channel they won't fully blackout ( just reduce the light.) The channel black out ones stop airflow in summer so pros and cons ( I had one before)

I got white Venetian blinds for my hall windows which are very overlooked.

Primark for cheap interim curtains- buy two pairs for wide windows. They don't deliver though

Blinds2go - extremely quick and cheap and made to measure. Blinds247 (and curtains247) are similar, but having done both I think that blinds2go was slightly better.
Our 2.5 X 1.6m custom fit roller blind was only £87 and arrived within a week, we also got Roman blinds that were a bit more expensive but not too much and also very quick.

If you need true blackout, BlocOut blinds are incredible!

Sorry to hi jack but those who got the curtains from blinds2go with blackout lining have you been able to wash/dry clean them?

Bought blackouts from dunelm no dry cleaner would touch due to the backing which apparently melts and ruins their machines.

I've not needed to try yet, according to their care instructions you are supposed to dry clean, so presumably is safe, it also feels like fabric and not plasticky - but wouldn't want to advise anything as have no personal experience!

Does anyone know if wooden (or similar) venetian blinds give full privacy when closed? I need them for a loo without privacy glass. Thanks!

I think it would be a massive pain to fully close the wooden blinds every time. You can buy film to attach, if you cut it well it is indistinguishable from privacy glass from the inside (and much cheaper!)

Next made to measure always seem to have some fabrics on half price, which makes their curtains much better value.
M&S have some 229 x 279cm curtains on their ready made section (biggest ‘standard’ Curtains are usually 228 x 229 ish).
