Bright lighting for dark hall

We've just decorated our hall a pale greige and need some new lighting that preferably doesn't break the bank but will be quite bright as the hall both upstairs and down is quite dark.

Any suggestions?

Would very warm LEDs do the trick or are you after something more dramatic?

Which colour did you go for if you don’t mind me asking? (We are looking for something similar). Is it a pendant light fitting you have in the Hall? I really like Victorian lantern styles for a traditional hallway...or for something more modern a modern chandelier style? That should give you quite a lot of light if you want it and does not need to be expensive if you shop around.....

If you can get mirrors this will help too as it will be nearly be like adding a window.

If you are getting pendant lights, try to get dimmers switches if possible. Warm white LEDs can be very nice but definitely get dimmers if you can afford them.

It was a crown paint we went for... Macintosh I think?! Looks grey downstairs and more brown/beige upstairs where there's less light.

Not after anything dramatic - just want something that looks nice and is bright so I can actually see what I'm doing without resorting to this spotlight things we had in the 90s!

It's hard because they always look so bright in shops but not when you get them home!
