Bay window privacy - shutters/nets/film

We've got a standard Victorian terrace with a bay window at the front and a tiny front garden so you can see right into the living room from the street.

We'd really like to have full length curtains in there for warmth and to deaden the acoustic (used as a music room). This means we also need something to let light in but block the view in the day, probably only bottom half of window so cafe style.

Plantation shutters look nice but they're so expensive, especially since we'll also have expensive curtains. Are nets really so bad? Has anyone tried window film? Or should we just go for the shutters?
