Sofa through narrow entrance

We need a new sofa but it is in a room that is down some stairs, round a corner and a through a doorway. Think therefore need one that will come in parts and can be built in the room. Quite like the tidafors from ikea (particularly because it has a tall back). Where else can I look? Or do all other places send them pre-built?

Quite a few places will make the arms removable for you, either as standard or as an option when you order. Would that be enough or do you need it smaller still?

That may help, thank you. I had dismissed usual high street places like John Lewis, Laura Ashley, next, marks etc on basis that they all seem ready built but that sounds like an option.

The problem is decent size room so want a three seater with tall back (for comfort) and didn’t think through how I would get it in there!

We had to have a window removed to get our new sofa in.

Ours from SCS came in bits because it wouldn’t have fitted through the door any other way. They then assembled it for me (4 sections plus arms) and checked it all fitted ok.

I’m not sure I want to go down route of windows being taken out!

What about a modular sofa?

(My friend got a massive modular one from oak furnitureland that she got up some narrow stairs and round the corner in her small flat)

I’ll have a look thank you. All the comments are really helpful as I was worried we were stuck with only one model from ikea (which would be fine but it’s also nice to have a choice)
