This never happens, things always pass me by. I thought I had decorated my living room in taupe but my bestie says it griege, therefore I am on trend Grin

I have a stone effect wallpaper going up as I couldnt afford the real thing, thankfully its not as naff as I feared but I am struggling with an accent colour.

We have 2 sofas, grey and a browny/beige, then the carpet is a brownish colour with taupe and darker taupe walls with an indian slate effect wallpaper on chimney breast.

There is a black marble hearth and fake stove but the fire surround is painted white cast iron, simple in design not a Victorian classic.

I was thinking of very light blush pink for some cushions and throws for the sofa. We cant replace the tired and saggy sofas. Then old gold accessories inc picture frames. I have some lovely mid century furniture with gold/brass handles.

Or do I.pick up the black from the fireplace, I also have a glass top coffee table with black legs and a couple of nice black photo frames.

We have spent many hrs on the redecorating and I want it to look nice but now have decision fatigue! I have been all over pinterest and I love it all

I also have a ridiculously small budget approx £100, to do all the fun and pretty bits. I tend to buy secondhand and am quite crafty, so any and all ideas welcomed.

What about a deep green and some bronze?

Thx for the reply, deep green, ummmm. I like the bronze idea. I am trying to reuse what I have so I can spent my cash on pretty pillows and stuff.

The carpet goes down this week, I think I will have to see what it looks like then. Basically I am torn between pink and old gold or black.

I do have a teal rug and lamp, I have seen that used as an accent colour but I want the room to feel different, so I will probably flog them.

I think it depends on if you want a more monochromatic look or if you want something a bit softer. Blush and gold to soften it a bit, black for more formal or modern. Agreed on ditching the teal, I think your other ideas are better.

Sounds lovely. As long as there is no grey. That’s all I see as I house hunt on line. It’s so cold! Grey walls everywhere!

Thanks for the suggestions. I am leaning towards the pink and gold as its a softer look but then the black does look very sophisticated. Need inspiration to strike.

Just in case anyone is interested Grin I went for mink cushions and black accessories with a couple of dusky pink cushions and a throw to warm up the colours. Plus a few little touches of old gold. It looks amazing, only problem is it makes the rest of the house look tired now Shock
