Wilko paint anyone?

I’ve just bought a tester pot or two after spending years thinking it will be rubbish but it’s really quite thick and very matte. Thicker than the dulux we used on the ceiling.

Their crushed almond is EXACTLY the same colour as f&b white tie that we used on the stairs. We used estate emulsion so it’s marked already.

For £10 I can do the downstairs cloakroom the same colour.

Yes I've used their durable range in several rooms. It's standing up very well and wipes down nicely. In fact with one colour we only needed one coat which was great! I also purchased their gloss, it's still nice and fresh six months on. Don't be mistaken that the lower price reflects on the quality Smile

I used I once. Never again. It was noticeably worse than Dulux.

Was it worse than Crown? Crown is my line in the sand. I remember using it 20 years ago though and it was like painting with milk then.

This was one coat over a lilac... Don't know if thats any help to you or not. Plus the colours seem pretty true to the shade on the tins.

BIL swears by Wilko paint and has used it extensively in their house. Seems to wear very well.

Ha I'm not sure, I've never used Crown.

I've actually just painted DS' bedroom with their 'Best' range - think it's super matt. Couldn't get to local DIY shed, needed to paint today. It was great to apply, looks great. It's a very light colour though which may help.

Two painter and decorators I know swear by Wilko paint. I've got Teal in my living room and it's a lovely deep colour.

We used willow paint for our bedroom, it covered really well!
Used two coats but only because we were covering the darkest, most disgusting green colour.
I would definitely recommend.

I'm about to apply my second coat of wilko paint today. I love it and intend my home to look like a wilko catalogue 😁 their paint pads are the future!

Warm grey for me, it really is a warm grey, better than the photo. The paint gave great coverage too. I was really impressed and thought I'd be able to keep Wilko paint as my little secret Smile

Quite often if I see something I like in John Lewis wilko do a version that’s cheaper.

@Bluesheep8 it's called 'Spa' 🙄

Yep, agree, the emulsion paint is great. I've painted the back room in Organic Green, which is beautiful and restful. Whoever said about the paint pads - agree completely, love 'em.

Also recommend their quick dry gloss paint. Really easy to apply, no drips, and touch dry very quickly.

(Don't use their one coat gloss - it's thick and gloopy and absolutely honked for about three days.)

Do you have a pic mixedpeel? I want to do DS' room in a calming green.

Also agree about the gloss paint. I've just painted three windowsills with it and it's great

Ooh I'm looking for a warm grey Bixg. Is that its name on the tin?

DP is a shopfitter and if they can't get paint in time from the trade place they buy from (order in) then will pop to wilkos. It's decent stuff for the price.

Yeh, their paint pads are good but their One Coat emulsion took three coats 😬
