Going pink in the living room - need help accessorising on the cheap

After 10 years of London Stone, I'm craving something lighter and brighter. After a few testers, we're painting the living room Alhambra Stone (Craig & Rose). This is just a revamp to last us another few years before we replace our front windows, so am trying not to go crazy moneywise, especially as i've just reduced my hours and pay at work!

We will replace our sofa covers with grey ones (£200). I think pink and grey go really well with emerald/leaf green. We are currently getting a cost to reupholster a Victorian nursing chair we already have in green velvet.

I need new cushion covers, a couple of throws, and a few accessories to tie everything together - so in pink, forest green, and maybe grey. Ideally I would get a berber style rug, but not too hard to vacuum and not wool as we have moths. We're also thinking of adding a picture rail and some prints.

Please point me in the way of suggestions for cheap or make your own things - cushions, throws, prints, wall art, accessories - that will help make the place look fresh and modern. Also suggestions for plants I cannot kill and where to get them - they wouldn't get direct sunlight.

TK Maxx/Homesense is good for cushions, throws and accessory bargains. I like Wayfair (online) for rugs and Ikea usually do large rugs that aren't too expensive. Terrys Fabrics often have decent discounts, I've made curtains from their fabric before and really pleased with the quality of the material.

As for plants that aren't too diffificult to care for; spider plants, pothos and dracaena are fairly hardy. Most succelent plants are low maintenance and don't need watering too often. If you don't want to go to a garden centre, Ikea and Homebase stock a good range of houseplants.

My living room is pink too. I think that black and brass accessories go well so i have black picture frames and candlesticks and a brass pineapple and terrarium.

@Stefoscope thanks for your tip on Wayfair, didn’t even know of it. Just about to order a rug from there for £87, very pleased. They are good velvet cushion covers (plain) for £9 ish so considering adding a few of those.

Am in love with some £25 cushions from Made but would need at least 3 which would come to a LOT of money!
