Wood or carpet for bedroom?

Not long moved into new bungalow... there is currently no carpet in the house, wooden floors in living areas and laminate wood effect in bedrooms and hallway off bedrooms. We want to replace the laminate in bedroom/hall areas which is closed off/separate to the main living area via door and hallway. Thinking of replacing with carpet for warmth and comfort. Is this a good idea? Trying to think of pros and cons. We can't afford to replace with wood flooring at the moment and the laminate flooring has seen better days and is very cold under foot.

I'd think that unless you have underfloor heating, carpet in a bedroom is the better option. Warmer than laminate and much quieter too.

I’d go for carpet in the bedrooms as well. We have a wooden bedroom floor installed by previous owners and I hate it. Cold in the mornings and fluff/hair has nothing to stick to and accumulates really quickly under all the furniture so we end up with dusty fluff balls everywhere!

We have carpet in our room and it is warm and cosy. DD has laminate in hers and the difference is remarkable. Her floor is almost painfully cold underfoot in winter mornings.

Definitely carpet in the bedroom.

We have floorboards. It looks fab, in reality it is awful.

Cold, slippy and creaky. Bought a rug, doesn't do it for me. Carpet every time.

We rented a house that had laminate in the bedrooms, and I found that the bed ended up full of bits of grit from the bottom of our feet - I have never found that problem before or since, and have always had bedroom carpet, apart from this one case.

I have wood with a huge rug. I had just wood for years but the rug is far superior which makes me think I should have carpet.

I had wooden floorboards in a ground floor flat and it was only bearable in the height of summer. And now we have laminate in one bedroom (thanks previous owners!) as well as throughout downstairs and I hate it, so cold and unfriendly underfoot. We did live in a rental with engineered wooden floors in one upstairs bedroom and that was bearable even in winter - I don't know if they'd used really good insulation underneath or what but it was much warmer than the laminate we have now or the ground floor wooden boards.
