Such a thing as nice Wall lights?

We have inherited these beauties with the house we've just moved into...

We've never had wall lights in a property before so they aren't really on my radar- to be honest I think I associate them with older people's more traditional taste as my parents have them, albeit a gold plated style. Of course we could remove them completely However I don't fancy re-plastering a large wall to cover up where they've been.

Is anyone putting wall lights in now? If so what have you gone for?

Thanks

I have bought something like this
www.diy.com/departments/react-chrome-effect-smoked-acrylic-wall-light/1306915_BQ.prd
For my upstairs hallway. We only have wall lights in the upstairs hall as the house is chalet style so low ceilings upstairs.
My lounge has 4 wall lights. Very traditional brass and onyx mount with plain crystal shades and candle bulbs. That match the crystal chandelier. Not tomeveryones taste as not modern but I love them.

We have contemporary industrial looking wall lights by Nordlux. Depends on the style of your house but there are modern options available!

I’ve got these up, I never liked wall lights but our room is currently too small for strategic mood lighting. They throw out a good amount of light and I think they look fairly modern!?!

Jim Lawrence are my go-to for good quality, good looking lighting?

Also a fan of Holloway’s of Ludlow. They are a bit more expensive than Jim L.

I always find light fittings generally shockingly expensive but have had some good successes in Next and I think they have some nice designs for the money.

Agreed with PP regarding Jim Lawrence (I did not appreciate they were good value too until I looked for that style elsewhere and was shocked). I also got some really simple but attractive ones from Made.
I tried Ocean lighting but I am fighting to be allowed to return a light that looked good online but when it arrived it looked as if it has been made from coat hangers.

I've got theJohn Lewis Amalfi lights - they can be painted to blend in a bit which is why I liked them.

All my lighting recently has come from ebay. It is coming from China, but I've been pleased with everything so far.

I love these ones

I love these https://www.houseology.com/tom-dixon-base-wall-light perhaps a bit on the pricey side... Wink
But wall lights are very cool. Don't have any myself but if I could rewind a bit I think I would. Go for it!

Laura Ashley have some lovely wall lights and matching pendants/flush ceiling lights/table lamps. Personal faves being the Vienna and Sorrento ranges 😍
