Sturdy sofa bed?

Can anyone recommend a very sturdy sofa bed. We've recently had an extension and now have a room to use as a study/spare room when my in laws come to stay from Ireland. Trouble is, while my MIL is petite, my FIL is HUGE! He's 6'3" and very 'well built'. My SIL and niece are same. I need a sofa bed that's up to the job.

We have a futon co Oke in our study that is completely solid.

Thanks I think we may have to go for something like that. Didn't really want to since they take up more space against the wall as you lie along it rather than folding out in to the room. The metal action ones have thin oak mattresses and look really flimsy. I've seen some in the £1500 price bracket which look better but maybe still not good enough and can't afford that!

I bought one from John Lewis as my spare bed in a one bed flat and it's great. Robust and comfortable, but slightly springy/ wobbly if one person fidgets a lot.

My MIL bought a very cheap one for when we go to stay and it's horrific. No support and really uncomfortable. The air beds we have for camping are better.

Friend has an inflatable double bed (think air bed but full height from the ground) which we use when we stay there and it's the best of the lot. It has a built in pump which you plug in. If space allows, I'd get a normal sofa and then one of those. Otherwise make sure two of you lie on a sofa bed in the shop before ordering!

Oh I see just looked and it does fold out in to the room! Thanks that looks like a great solution! Not too low either. MIL has a lot of pain issues and would struggle to get on and off if floor level.

How about a wall bed that folds out of a cupboard? then you got a proper bed with a real mattress that jut folds away. I think this is what we will go with as we have recently moved 300 miles away from most of our family and visitors tend to come for a week or so at a time and I’ve never slept on a sofa bed that I’d be happy with for a week! (I’m 6 ft)

Wall bed king look reasonable for the mechanism and cupboard....
