People who have throws on their sofa

Where did you get yours and what are they like? Our sofa is really tatty but can't afford a new one yet, and with two toddlers thinking it might be an idea to wait anyway!

We currently use some cheapy Ikea ones but they've gone really bobbly and off colour so am thinking it might be an idea to invest in some nicer ones. Obviously they'll need to be able to stay on the sofa well and clean easily.

Tkmaxx are excellent for cheaper but expensive looking throws.
I bought a beautifully soft wool one from JL recently. It wasn’t cheap by my standards £80) but it looks lovely and is very warm.

I second TKMaxx. I have a sofa which isn't ageing well but wont replace til we have had all the work done on our new house. I've bought a selection over the last few months and enjoy swapping them about.

Avoca - that is all.

They are divine.

I have 2 and am hankering after more even though I have absolutely no need for them.

About £80 will get you a good sized one. (We have two but have a large u-shaped sofa)

They ship from Ireland but are very quick delivery.

(They are also my go-to gifts for wedding presents for people without gift lists and they have always been very gratefully received and still mentioned years later as real favourites)

I have knitted ones from Ikea. I also have the bobbly ones you have, now keep them in the car for cold morning.

I have one from Laura Ashley, but I do lust after the ones in avoca.

We have soft velvety ones from The Range. One purple, one grey and we've had them years. They're good as new, machine wash and dry quickly.

They were inexpensive too. Definitely less than £20.

We have a William Morris quilt on our sofa, it's meant for a king size bed but is perfect on our three seater sofa. I either have it folded along the length of the back in winter when we will use it more often so it's easy to pull off and on or folded around the seat cushions in summer when we won't use it. It washes and tumble dries beautifully, despite it saying not to tumble dry. It was quite expensive but I bought it entirely with vouchers I had for birthday/Christmas. We also have some Indian kantha throws stored in baskets which are frequently used, you can get them very cheaply on eBay and are great if you want a splash of colour. Incredibly soft cotton which is double layered so very warm.

After spending a fortune on different throws and ruining them in the wash I bought the £10 fleece ones from M&S on 20% off day so £8 each and hope they will wash ok, they are a bit plainer than some of the more expensive fancy ones with tassels but have got very good reviews.

Mine are from Bronte here.

I had some new ones for my birthday this year but we have collected about 8 of them over the years, some on beds, some as picnic blankets, the dog has got an ancient one. I love them, they even do them for cots/babies, DD still has hers.

They wash on my cold wool wash. We use them as blankets on the sofa rather than throws to cover it up.

Mine are from the english wool company. They were £25 in the sale because they have the wrong label on 1 and it was finished on the edging in the wrong shade on the other.

Theyre knitted wool and very warm.
