Help me understand this little old chair

It’s been handed down to me and it’s in need of love and work (especially as DD has been standing on it to reach a high shelf and has damaged the seat). Just curious - what would you call a chair like this in actual furniture terminology? Is it a slipper chair, a bedroom chair, or ...? What about date - Edwardian, maybe? It’s quite small and low. Just curious, and hoping there will be antique chair experts lurking.
