This is those of us who love Christmas:
when do you put up your tree and decorations?

I was thinking end of 2nd week in November (it's usually when my decorations go up).

Do you do it earlier, later? And why?

I LOVE Christmas!

I'd find that very early. In November, I still have autumn stuff up (like planting in the front). Mine usually go up on 01.12

November is too early it's several weeks till. Xmas and I'd get bored of the decorations by Christmas. It's tacky to put them up too early.

First Saturday in December here.

November would be too early for me, but if it makes you happy, why not?

A few of my friends have autumn/winter non-christmassy decorations they put up in October time onwards.

I love the spirit of Christmas. It's the feeling of warmth, happiness, and conviviality that seem to emanate from most people.

Blackandpurple, don't you just love the decorations up and it saying Christmas is here!?
What do you usually put up?
I am counting down the days now. 🎄

ClashCityRocker it does, it makes me very happy. This year I also have a 3.5 year old DD who now "gets" Christmas, so the excitement, even from October, is building up!

JoJoSM2, first December is not that far off from November 😊

What are you going to put up?

Normally as soon as I can after the 1st, and I put everything up at once. Whole house transformed. Occasionally there will be new bits and bobs purchased in November that will go out early as no where to store them until the attic is opened.

This year our tree and everything is going up around the 10th November as our first baby is due end November / start of December so it'll be too hectic. I have promised that although everything will be up our lights won't get switched on until December 1st.

Hopefully we will be back to tradition next year.

We did consider just not having a tree this year with my due date but I couldn't do it, love Christmas too much and still want to enjoy as much of it as I can.

I love Christmas. I put my tree up about the 15th December! Any earlier and it would lose all its needles.

On or after 8th December as there is a birthday in the house before. 8th is always a holiday here, so we have all day to put up decorations and tree.

I have got autumnal decorations up and will throw in a couple of pumpkins next week and the Raven wreath. I shall cook Edgar Allen Pie Grin

Decs come down on 7th January, so a month is enough. I leave up some twinkly lights until the clocks change in spring and the spring wreath goes up.

I have small seasonal decorations up all year round, some bought and some made by ds.

Won't your tree die by Christmas.

I'm obsessed with Christmas, but I don't usually put my tree up until about the 15th December and I take all decorations but the actual tree down well before the 6th January.
I'll be on maternity leave this year though, so may start getting out little bits and pieces a bit earlier.

First weekend of December

JoJoSM2, I am putting up lights inside and outside, tree in the house, decorations on the windows, play Christmas carols & songs.

elQuinto, I do not put my decorations up because there is a family birthday the day before my decorations go up.

Fakenamefornow, no. I don't do love trees - too many needles around the house.

It looks like I am generally the rebel here as most are traditional with timings for Christmas decorations. But I would start from October if I could! Smile
