Has anyone done this? Is it much more economical than buying fancy insert extras from the kitchen suppliers?

We have their shelf dividers and love them! Work really well for us, for separating out mugs, bakeware and spices.

The ones we have are metal and sort of grid-like. They were cheap. Don't know about comparing to cost of whole kitchen as we inherited that from the previous people but I'd buy them again. Only downside was that they were a nightmare to screw together!

Just be careful of the dimension, Ikea cabinets tend to be deeper than others because they don't have service gap at the back, so some of the storage solutions won't find in standard drawers and cupboards.

I wouldn't have said these were an exact fit - but they do the job and come in more than one size. These are what we have now I have time for a link:

I have the shelf dividers too in a couple of different sizes, they're really handy for separating stuff out that would otherwise be stacked like different sizes of plates, bakeware etc.
