Painting the ceiling

I'm decorating a bedroom in the house and have just done the first coat of paint on the walls, it will definitely need at least one other coat as the horrible colour underneath is making the grey I'm using look pinky.

Thing is, now I've done that, the ceiling that I thought looked ok actually does look a bit shabby, not too bad really just a few spots that could do with retouching but I know I would end up doing the whole thing. Should I just get on and do it before I finish the walls and realise it would all look better with it done or just leave it? I wouldn't attempt it afterwards and I'm only being lazy because I'm renting and the ceiling is in no worse a state than when we moved in but we have a lovely landlord who has allowed us to decorate whatever room we want.

I should just do it really shouldn't I?

I hate painting ceilings, but having just done them in the sitting room and kids bedrooms it really does make a difference and looks loads better. If you're going to do it you really need to do it before you do the second coat in the walls.

Thanks, I got on and did it. It seems like such an unrewarding job. It's not obvious it's been done but has just taken me an afternoon to do it.

Having said that it does make the colour on the walls look a lot better.
