Half way through a long, messy renovation and feeling a bit disheartened.

What gorgeous things could I use to decorate/kit out my newly improved home when it's finished - approx a million weeks from now?

Money is no object massive lie

I don't know what your style is, but the latest Rockett St George catalogue arrived through my door this morning and it looks amazing.

Does my new garden bench count? Very chuffed as I will no longer get splinters or spiked by the wire holding old one together.

I'm also in the midst of a renovation, so joining in. A good reed diffuser cheered me up a bit recently!

Ooh - we're coming to the end of an extension so looking for inspiration...probably need to decide which of the twenty paint testers currently on the wall I'm actually going to use first though (DH is threatening divorce if I buy another one).

Anyone been to Homesense? Went there for the first time today and it's amazing!! Like a massive TKMaxx home section!

Also need inspiration - we've just moved and need to get our new house how we like it. Looking for a towel rail just now.

I commissioned a local artist to paint a portrait of my little JRT. It wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be and I love it. Maybe that is something you could look into OP? Not necessarily an animal painting, of course, but something personal to you.

Love those plates. Shame I don't need new crockery.

I got some bespoke stuff made by sellers on etsy, lamp shades, cushions, throws, roman blinds, honestly it costs less than the shops for some really high end materials like voyage or sandersons and always looks amazing. I've now got some fairly unique pieces which I love.

We have been here three years and done a lot of renovation and I would say don't buy it unless you love it. Just wait, and go without and then get something you know you will love. Even if it takes a year to save up for those curtains, better that than buying something to make do and being stuck with it.

However for soft furnishings I'd thoroughly recommend etsy, some of the people on there are fantastic and the things they can make are amazing.

One of my friends said to be recently " I love this house, it's not just the house, it's Everything in it is so nice" and that's generally because I don't buy off the shelf, I spend ages on line looking for things I like then I have someone make them for me, it's so worth doing.

So I'd say think about it, don't buy for the sake of it, buy because it's something you love.

Three glass conical and cope reached pendant lights.

Navy velvet curtains.

Rice melamine cups in pinks and oranges.

Some local pottery.

Yy Blunt. Theoretically we could just carry on using the same stuff we have now but some of it is a bit tatty and won't do the renovated place justice. I just want a few lovely things and to get rid of some of our old tat rather than replacing everything.

Need more links!

Oh I'm getting navy/beige kind of ombre velvet curtains made! See photo - fabric is from a factory shop.

I got a lovely home catalogue recently, mainly furniture. It had a kids section called "little X" and there were some twin beds that converted to bunk beds.

But I lost the catalogue. And I can't remember the name. Not Made. It's driving me bananas!

Poverty can you link to the lights?

Oh and DS wants something pretty to put on his shelf in his new room. With a rainbow. And sparkles. And a man. Any ideas?

I'd also say you get what you pay for. I bought an orchid arrangement from bloom uk, it was really expensive and is gorgeous, I also bought a cheap one on Amazon and it's in the spare room, reviews said it was great but the reality is it looks like what i paid. It looks fake and cheap,

Pictures, curtains, blinds, cushions, throws, flower arrangements, don't go cheap, go the best you can afford.

Huge great enormous picture. It's not here yet, can't wait. A guy is coming to hang it up, so big is it. Once when I was fretting about my hand-me-down collection of odds and sodds of furniture a kind friend once told me not to worry, no one's looking at the furniture with all the great stuff on the walls. I do hope so!
