Fairy lights as all year round decor

What are your options on fairy lights in everyday decor (bedroom, living room) if done tastefully. Is this acceptable or too teenage girl bedroom? I cant make up my mind! I have an interesting shaped window frame in the front room which is plain otherwise and was wondering if fairy lights would accentuate this or just look totally naff!

I love them and personally if you like them I think it's more naff to NOT have them because of what others might think.

They can be a very useful addition to mood lighting. I have an empty fireplace in one room that doesn't function...fairy lights entwined with some attractive logs, work very well in there.

They're also strung up in my sun room and I have some inside a lantern on a shelf too.

I love them, really lifting and cosy.

I have a few
Glass ones around a mirror from not on the high street
Circle ones from cable and cotton which you can pick your colours, they're really lovely

Very pretty

My cousin has clear ones round her mantle and fireplace and a large glass door and it just looks so cozy and cheerful. I tried it in my house and it just looked stupid.

I think it depends on your furniture and the decor in the room.

Should be the law!
I love them, they completely change the mood of a room. They're just a bugger to keep dust free without taking them all down every time

I love them - fairy lights are definitely not just for Christmas Smile

I am a bit of a prissy knickers re décor but I have a huge mirror in my lounge and fairy lights wrapped around it.
Gives lovely glow when it's dark they can been seen through the window and even my DP says it looks cosy as he comes up the drive,

I love them around my mantle and fireplace.

Cocolepew · 29/03/2017 20:47

Love them. Have, twinkly coloured ones on twiggy shit, and battery operated ones on my mantle and a small table.
They are so cosy looking .

bignamechangeroonie · 29/03/2017 21:01

They also look like you've made an effort with decor when you haven't. Coupled with low level lighting they hide dust and make it cosy

I have them in every room

DevelopingDetritus · 29/03/2017 21:04

Love them.

fabulousfrancesca · 29/03/2017 21:18

Love them. I have some around my lounge window and some wire ones on the kitchen windowsil

I'm undecided. At dh's request after Christmas, i left a set on the mantlepiece and one in a glass vase on the landing.
They do make the room look cosy but I think I might get rid of them as the evenings get brighter.

Yes! I love them. They make a room feel cosier and welcoming. Warm white only for me. I have them around my bed as an alternative to using my bedside lamp so I do g disturb DH and it's far more relaxing. Also some copper wired ones in a jar in the kitchen. Also some around a large floor standing mirror. They give a nice warm glow. I do tend to put the jar away during the Summer as it's not used but otherwise, I'm a fan.
