Lino over tiles?

Hi, moving to a new house that needs various bits doing. The main bathroom is an absolute tile extravaganza and I was hoping to quickly and cheaply change the floor - has anyone successfully laid cushion floor over tiles? I know it can be done, but does it work, or should the floor be boarded first? Thanks in advance

Is the bathroom upstairs? In which case the tiles may be laid on ply over the floorboards. You might be better off removing them than boarding over them. If you just put vinyl over the top, the outline of the tiles will soon show through.

Thanks wowfudge, I thought it may be the case that the outline of the tiles would show through after time. Yes it's upstairs, I'll need to rip them up I guess.

We put cushion floor over tiles (mosaic) and it was fine. It was decent quality. You could fill the grout lines with filler before laying the cushion floor, would be a lot easier than pulling up the tiles and making good imo.
