Looking for inspiration for ds10

Ds needs his room doing, he also desperately needs new furniture as he has outgrown his.

Want to do him a room that will last into his teens, but not sure what to go for. He has a built in wardrobe so that's sorted, but he currently also has an ikea bookcase and a couple of trofast storage units that have seen better days but I'm not sure what to replace these with?

I'm thinking the toys that he does still have get less and less attention especially as he'll be off to secondary in September. Also he has a kindle and uses the library a lot, so after a clear out of his shelves I'm not convinced he'll really need another bookcase, but then what to do with the books he has?

Any ideas of what is cool for pre teen boys would be great.

Does he have the 4 or the 8?

It's funny when I was a teen I had shelves heaving with books and cd's and s huuuge hifi. Now I just wonder what they will have in their rooms - a lonely little kindle and an iPod!

Hmm his room is decent sized, but don't want to buy furniture for the sake of it which is why I wondered whether a desk would be used.

His bed also has book shelves down the side. These are photos when it was just finished. It's never been tidy again Smile

We've just done dd's room (she's 13 and definitely not a girly girl) in navy blue and grey on the walls. It looks so nice, much nicer than I expected. She's got white furniture against the blue walls and some yellow/orange bits to lighten it up and it looks amazing. That colour combination would look good for a boy or girl and can 'grow' with them depending on
how it's accessorised
