Printed fabric for Roman blinds suggestions?

I've never gone down the made-to-measure route but will soon need to pick fabrics for living room/diner and master bedroom.

Any recommendations for great places to choose fabrics from or suggested fabrics?

For lounge/diner the room with have plain walls (grey) and a general mid-century kind of look with walnut/tan leather/darker blues/copper in furniture, floor & furnishings.

Bedroom - no idea yet, but I'm thinking something grey/white bird themed.

I saw this in dunelm yesterday and thought it was great. Would this fit with your colours? It was £18 a metre and is 140cm wide

It's orla keily, they had a selection. I also love the pea green/mustardy one but dh would hate it!!

Both dunelm and John Lewis are good for browsing through lots of fabrics. I've always used a small local wallpaper / fabric shop (so no good if you are outside the north east) but I take pictures of my room, swatches of wallpaper or paint and get them to find suggest fabrics. A good independent shop will have lots of ideas and be able to show you lots of samples. If you don't know any local shops, look online for shops nearby that supply Sanderson, designers guild, Jane Churchill, farrow & ball etc.

You can spend so long looking at fabrics you never make up your mind I find - bit if a fabric fetish going on😳. These are my favourite suppliers though
Tinsmiths www.tinsmiths.co.uk/fabric.html do some interesting fabrics which are hard to find elsewhere
www.top-designer.co.uk/ they supply loads of different makes of fabric at really good prices. You can get samples from the manufacturers websites usually.
For making blinds up with your own fabrics, these people are very hard to beat and their own choice of fabrics are pretty good too

The other happy hunting ground is EBay either for ready made curtains or lengths of fabric.

Jane Clayton (online) has a good selection. I love Matthew Williamson print fabrics - sunbed, bird of paradise etc.
