Would I be crazy to paint my entire sitting room blue?

It's currently cream. Brown carpet, brown sofas, orange curtains and rug. Maybe I should just have a feature wall but then I read that's dated??

Something like this?

I think that's a lovely colour. Very "now".

BlahBlahBlahEtc Sat 11-Feb-17 08:06:31

Mine was blue and I loved it. However my dp didn't and when I went to mums to one day he got some paint left over from work and painted it mushroom hmm I still haven't forgiven him.

My whole house is blue! I love my brown sofa against the bluesmile

Sorry, to me blue is a cold colour. Would prefer green or I'd paint them white but have blue in the rug, sofa etc.

But the shade the OP has posted pics of isn't cold. I love that colour and am thinking of using it in our kitchen and dining room.

I think it's lovely my dd has that colour in her bedroom - teal tension! On a side note we went to a mcdonalds the other day and the walls were also this colour!

She has all 4 walls done and it's a north facing room but strangely doesn't feel dark.

Think I'm going to do it. Definitely want a teal shade, but a bluer teal rather than a greener one. Will get down b&q and start looking at shades. Have seen a nice farrow and ball shade so want something like that but cheaper.

Do it! You can always repaint if you're not happy.
Post pics please. I think it sounds fab smile

Lovely, I have a bright turquoise office!

Love it.

It looks great. We used to have a blue bedroom and it was lovely.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Sat 11-Feb-17 09:01:19

That colour reminds me of the public toilets near us when I was growing up,so not for me but go for it if you like it! You can always paint over it if you don't.

I had a navy sitting room in my last house. It was fab.

I've got a rich navyish blue wall in my living room. The right shades of blue can be really warm and cosy. I love mine!

Go for it smile

DH is painting our living room blue as we speak. Only one coat on so far but it is looking good. Floor is being sanded on Monday and we are having one teal and one grey sofa. (I think this will work!)

PossumInAPearTree Sat 11-Feb-17 15:57:42

Think I'm going to go for Liberty blue 2 dulux paint. Dh says I need to wait till spring because it's the wrong time of year for painting. hmm

MissMillament Sat 11-Feb-17 16:00:58

Love that! Tell your DH my DH is painting away as we speak!

abeandhalo Sat 11-Feb-17 16:42:47

We have our entire living room this colour (and the hall actually) and we love it, it's so cosy.

Try Canton by Little Greene but mixed as a dupe by Johnstone's!

PossumInAPearTree Sat 11-Feb-17 17:08:32

I like the Canton but think it's slightly more towards the greener side of teal than what I was after.

FurbysMakeSexNoises Sat 11-Feb-17 17:13:47

Okay- Marine Blue?

PossumInAPearTree Sat 11-Feb-17 17:28:40

Maybe a bit dark....quite like Air Force blue though. Thanks.

Husband has now finished the painting - what do you think?
