Hello stylish people of mumsnet. I am having kitchen units & worktop as per the photos, installed in my new extension. I'm wondering what colour to paint the walls (light olive green?), what tiles or back panel to have (same as the worktop is an option). Also what to dress the 2 windows & French door with. I'd thought patterned roller blinds on the window & matching curtains on the door. I believe you can have blinds attached to the doors though. Do others have these, what are they like? Do they swing about when you open the door or are they fixed at the bottom? What to put on the floor? Please help oh wise ones.

My mum's kitchen is similar colours to the units & worktop & she has cream tiles & wall with bold patterned curtains & blind that are mainly blue but with some brown silhouettes of flowers. She can get away with the cream as the fabric is so bright.

I also have one friend with a similar kitchen & she has cream tiles but the walls are painted sage green. He family area is off the kitchen & her curtains & blinds are a mix of green, brown & cream in bold stripes. Fabric might have been from John Lewis?

Dunelm mill sell the blinds that are attatched to the door. They sit in a sort of casing & are actually hidden when not being used.

Floor wise my friend with the sage green has dark grey tile floor & my mum has a light floor.

Thanks Lesley, I had originally thought oak coloured worktops & same floor but this new worktop is a bit dark so now thinking light coloured vinyl in kitchen end & wood in dining end & hall. Aargh decisions decisions!

I think that the door blinds are called perfect fit blinds - try Googling it and you get lots.
