I have no idea how to pull a room together and need help! We have grey sofas and grey and white cushions and a white mantlepiece. Sort of scandi ish look but all a bit messy. The room is west facing and is Victorian with high ceilings etc. Any ideas?? Thanks

What colour grey is the sofa? Dark or light?

If it's light grey I'd possibly go for a very light duck egg colour.

Yellow looks fab with grey. Not too much mind. Can be a bit overbearing.

A pale (warm) green will go well with grey.

Thanks! They are pale grey. I wondered about duck egg too but hadn't thought about green shades. I like grey walls but think that would be too grey??

Very pale pink and other pale blush tones go really well with grey.

I don't even know how you tell if a colour is warm or not. How have I never learnt this Blush

Namchanger22 I like pale blush colours too. I need to start looking on Pinterest. I will post here but keep posting suggestions if you all can. Any actual paint shades would be great too! Thank you! X

An easy way to tell if a colour is warm or not is to put it next to your skin. If it warms up your skin colour then it's a warm tone.

There are thousands of really good colour combinations on Pinterest. I spend a lot of time on there.

We have a similar feel by the sound of it! We have charcoal grey sofas, white shutters and a white fireplace. Our walls are Farrow and Ball French Grey which is actually a pale lilac - it looks really nice with the grey and white.

Depends how bold you want to go. Deep peacock blues go well. Or keep to white and use colour elsewhere. I'd google images of grey sofas on pinterest and see what crops up.

I love lilac in general so a lilac grey would work too. Thank you so much.

Grey sofa owner here Smile

We have a dark turquoise "accent" wall doobrie, rest of the walls a light biscuity cream. Couple of turquoise small throws on the sofa, stripey turquoise and mustard yellow cushions (sound awful but they're not) couple of mustard cushions and a smattering of mustard accessories around the room.

Snap! Just bought lovely two mid grey sofas after 12 years of putting up with an old brown leather sofa just because it didn't show the dirt from the kids. But now I need to work out what other colours I should use!

We have a very pale pink on ours with grey sofa and curtains. It is called crema de la rosa and I think was a crown paint.

Grey goes with just about anything, which is why it's so popular.

What kind of look do you want? Modern? Shocking? Traditional?

Given the kind of house it's in a matt look paler colour could be the best idea. But you could have something like black, gold and puce pink if you wanted to.

Oh, we have grey sofas a d a decorating project on the go. We have a lot of oak though so a bit more of a challenge. I like the lilac grey idea, that would work with the pinky curtains ( Indian embroidered silk, they have to stay!)

I'm planning on charcoal grey sofas when I move later this year.

Am going for chalky white walls with one red feature wall.
