What size is your bedding?

Hello everyone,

I would very much appreciate any answers you could give me and they would be a huge help to me.
I run a small online concept store. We are only just starting out and there are many many learnings to be had. We have been stocking bed linen and although it is our most viewed product it is also the one that has not been selling very well at all. I believe one of the problems is the size (as the bedding is from Australia it is slightly too big for British duvets). So we are currently looking into finding a European supplier of the same exceptional quality level that can offer British sizes. My question is what size is your duvet and do you just buy one size or do you buy multiple sizes and if so could you tell me what those are?

Any help I could get would be greatly appreciated and would very much help a small business owner who is just starting out.

Thank you very very much in advance!

Warmest regards,
Nina

I'd think most people would have one duvet per bed in their house. Of the same size as the bed. I'd expect a king size to be the most popular for adults and a single for children.

I'd also expect this to be common knowledge, especially for someone selling bedding. Are you not based in the U.K.?

There are 4 beds in this house, all standard UK sizes - 1x super king (std UK SK duvet), 3x 4ft 6in doubles (using std UK dbl duvets).

I too don't understand the question. Didn't you do this market research prior to setting up the store? Most bedlinen suppliers selling to U.K. markets stock their bedlinen in a variety of standard U.K. sizes - single, double, king, superking.

Super king all the way.

Emperor for me and DH, king for guest rooms, double for DS, single for DD x 2.

There is a real lack of emperor bedding that doesn't cost the earth. I tend to get mine from the white company and it's quite nice but the bedding I love the most is the 1000 thread count luxury hotel collection stuff from HoF, but they don't do it in emperor size.
(Will also always wait for sales to purchase bedding, will never ever pay full price)

Thank you so much for your kind replies!
We run our business on the side of our full time day jobs and started with a very limited budget and other limitations (eg. needed to sing up very specific brands for a number of reasons such as product image consistency, back story, etc.). Unfortunately we did not have enough budget to get all of the different size options so we decided to only go for a king size to start off with. We now have some money to reinvest and so I am trying to decide whether to try to include various sizes or add more colour options or what the best thing to do would be. Of course I would love to include many different colour options and all sizes but unfortunately that is still not feasible.
Your feedback so far has been very helpful (and i hope to get some more :) ).
To answer your questions HowardMoonsJazzTrumpet I did not do any market research prior to starting. We are learning by doing and are prepared to make many many mistakes along the way :) Now that we are up and running and have made some more money to invest back into the business I am improving things as we go.

Thank you all again for taking the time to reply. It is very much appreciated
