hello
Has anyone used the The Shaker Kitchen Co for their kitchen and if so any feedback, thoughts, advice? The kitchens on the website look lovely and the quote i have had isn't as high as others.
What do you think?

Thanks

We're looking at this company for our kitchen. The website photos and prices are really tempting but to be honest we were off put by the actual quality when we visited the showroom. Could have been old slightly battered showroom kitchens, but they weren't as good quality as I hoped for.

Have you looked at the shaker styles on DIY Kitchens or Units Online?

Noisygirls - I thought the same when I went to the showroom but my husband was happy with quality and he is fussy! I am worried the paint will chip but as hubby said - any painted kitchen will chip over time. We didn't think the closures on the cupboards were great but this can be changed. I did however fall in love with their larder cupboard.

SorrelForbes - I am visiting DIY kitchens showroom tomorrow to see what the painted units are like. Have you used them?

I have just used them for my new kitchen. The customer service is the worst I've ever received- I've been trying to get my kitchen ordered and then completed since June but the fitters walked off the job and I have been told they won't come back until January. I couldn't be more unhappy. The whole process from start to finish was a disaster. My recommendation: don't touch with a barge pole!

OP -did you go for a Shaker Co kitchen in the end? We went to see them last week after visiting Parlour Farm and thought they were ok for the price!

Heloise26 - sorry did you mean you had a terrible time with Sharker Co? Did you get it resolved?

We're also in the middle of choosing a kitchen!

Yes I did have a terrible time with the Shaker Kitchen Co. It's such a shame because the kitchen (finally fitted after 7 months of waiting) is fantastic and good value too. But the customer service was so terrible, it took so long, were so rude, and the fact they they still owe me money that they promised to refund me means that I can't possibly recommend them. :(

Wow! 7 months! That's terrible - I've seen other reviews that aren't too favourable about the customer service but rate the finished kitchen - hmmm might stick with Parlour Farm then! Thanks for your input!!

Hi - kitchen looks fab! We haven't purchased the kitchen as yet but I think we are getting a local company to make something for us / seems to be cheaper and I was after a handle less shaker style which only Higham Kitchens seem to do. Sorry to hear you didn't have the best experience with your kitchen - looks worth the wait though!

Advice to potential customers: think carefully before handing over 100 % before your cabinetry is even in the UK. There's absolutely no incentive for TSKC to ensure customer satisfaction 😢. Lovely kitchens though!

OMG I had the worst consumer experience of my life with the SKC. I’m writing this in my unfinished kitchen 6 months after the deadline and absolutely no-one is interested in sorting out the issues. If you use them make sure you DO NOT pay up-front. As soon as you put the money down you don’t deal with the nice people in the showroom anymore, you get handed over to customer services who will go on to destroy the next few months of your life...now having to fork out for a solicitor. Ghastly.

Never has dealing with a company made me so sad. Just the most unpleasant company to deal with where nothing goes right. No care taken or attention to detail. Months later I still don't have a finished kitchen. The shop I bought from has shut down. They don't answer the phone or respond to emails. Still washing dishes in a sink upstairs and haven't cooked a meal at home in months. Agree with SW6mama above, they have ruined the last 5 months of my life and the end still isn't in sight. Let me know how you get on with the solicitor as I am considering the same. Just want it all to be over.
