Bedroom lighting?

We're just in the middle of an extension, DD is currently in a box room but the extension will give her a big L shaped room, what is currently the box room will be part of the L, and will be used as a study area, with the other part of the L being the sleeping area. I am debating what ceiling lights to go for, because it's an L shape I think it needs more than just a pendant but I think two pendants would look a bit odd. Would recessed spotlights look okay or do you think they are more kitcheny? She is a teenager so wants it to look contemporary. She will have bedside lights as well as a desk light. Thanks!

I'd probably go for spotlights - DD has them in her bedroom and it's fine - she has an attic room so ceilings aren't that high. She has a dimmer which is very useful.

I would use ceiling embedded spotlights (two zones - one bedroom area and one for the study area). I would then have a separate reading light on the desk.

If using LEDs remember they need a different dimmer to incandescent and you can't mix and match LEDs and non LEDs on the same circuit if the circuit has a dimmer on it.
