IKEA kitchens - yes or no?

We're doing up a wreck and will need a new kitchen. Can't afford fancy kitchen company and don't like the look of B&Q. I'm thinking white or pale wood (not veneer), sleek slabs (not shaker) and wonder if anyone has any experience of IKEA's kitchens, design service, etc?
