Hallway Lighting

Can anyone recommend a bright hallway light? My hallway is very dark and I want to put up a glass chandelier. However a lot of them will only take bulbs up to 42W which are not bright enough for the gloomy space. Thank you.

What about having some fairly plain wall lights/up lighters and your chandelier?
