Just bought a very small Victorian Terrace/cottage. One living room one sort of middle (weeney/snug) room & a tiny kitchen down stairs. One bathroom & two very small bedrooms upstairs.

This is out first every house together that we own, so I'd like to do it all lovely from top to bottom. I was thinking shabby/cottage chic type style.

I've a fair idea what I want the kitchen to look like no idea about the rest.. Help! I've bough a few pieces of furniture so it's more cosmetic/accessories after.

Do you have any original features such as cornices and ceiling mouldings? If so, paint them white. I'd then choose a sympathetic colour for the wall paint, light tones if the rooms are small such as Dulux natural hessian (a lovely warm pale fawn) or Dulux willow tree (nice light sage green).
What are the floors like? Do you have floorboards that you can sand and (satin) varnish or wax? Looks great with a rug on top.
Rather than cottage style or shabby chic I would think along the lines of 'classic modern Victorian' ....e.g. blend of pieces such as a chesterfield sofa, vintage natural wood sideboard, modern but stylish coffee table etc.
Mix up soft furnishings such as cushions and throws in a muted complementary palate using luxe fabrics such as velvets and textured fabrics.
Consider lighting carefully...use accent and mood lighting, avoid using one overhead light.
If you have big windows go for simple but floor length curtains.
Use small items on shelves etc for splashes of colour and think about framed prints / artwork for the walls.

Well, that's what I would do anyway....it's all subjective and a matter of personal taste of course! But I'd definitely make the most of any original features and Victorian elements.

Lots of ideas on Houzz.com such as here. Have fun!

Sorry for the delay, been working 12hr shifts.

Unfortunately there are no original features. Previous owners ripped everything out about 20 years ago.

I did originally think of that Seal but I've found it difficult to carry that look over the whole house because the furniture tends to be huge.

I've starred buying pieces that I can up style myself & some wallpaper/paint. I think the shabby chic look will keep it light & bright & it should be fairly simple to carry out throught the whole house.
