Which colour(s) would you pick out?

Hi all,

Just about to decorate our dining room after reclaiming it from playroom- VERY exciting and the first room we can decorate for 'adults' for years. But I need some guidance!

We have bought a huge rustic oak table and 8 chairs in different colours- one charcoal, one deep red, one cadburys purple, one pale green, one mink, two slightly tweedy pale mustard and one pale brown (sounds quite rank....look great though, I promise!).

I don't know which colours to pull out for curtains and accessories. And paint. And carpet. Carpet ideally to be light-mid grey to match lounge and hall. I was wondering about charcoal curtains? But then what colour on walls?

When we ordered them we were pleased to have options which would mean we could redecorate really easily around any of the chair colours but I don't know what to do first!

I don't think I want to go with one of the brighter colours for curtains.

So, probably grey carpet- what would you do with the walls and curtains?

Thanks.

For walls Egyptian cotton from dulux. I have yet to find a colour that hasn't gone well with it !

Thanks McC. It's certainly a nice colour and will pick up a sample. Am I right in thinking it kind of picks up whatever colours it's put with? So greyer with grey, maybe slightly peachy with reds and oranges etc?

I'd does exactly that. We have painted the whole house it it ! On my hall stairs and landing we have painted all the wood work in it then dove grey patterned paper on walls. Ended up doing the wood work in bathroom in ec and that matched sage green tiles and grey walls. It's bizarre. We have actually sampled other colours but always go back to it. In my lv the chimney breast is gold stripe with ec on the walls. Anyway o think you get my drift lol. Good luck !!!!
