Moving boxes

We have to move out of our house temporarily (for about 6 months) for substantial work to be done. What's a good source for cheap/free moving boxes which can be used to store for some time as well?

eBay have loads, quite cheap, or ask on Freecycle if anyone has some left from their move? Worth investing in proper moving boxes - sturdy & better for storing.

Ikea sell packs of them - rectangular with hand holds that just fit together, no tape required. They are just like the German boxes our last removal company gave us. You can probably get them cheaper on eBay, etc though.
