Does anyone have a simple set of instructions for making a pew cushion with piping? Thanks

Measure the pew or other pew cushions for length, width and depth. Cut top and bottom sections out of the fabric to these measurements + 2cms on each cut edge for the seams. Buy enuf piping to go all around the top and bottom sections. Sew the piping all around top and bottom sections. You can cut the strip for the thickness of the cushion in one long strip- do not forget you need +2cms for the seams on the top and bottom of the strip. Join the strip to the piping along the 4 sides of the top , then along 3 sides of the bottom. Leave 1 end side unsewn and put a zip in that side.

Thanks, I'm 1/2 way there with it. I'll put a photo on when it's done. The piping is really tricky, I had to set the presser foot on top of it to get my machine to sew close enough

glad to hear you're making the pew cushion. Was thinking maybe i'd been sucked in by a fake op! when you are doing the zip end, it will be easier if you do not put piping at that end, as will find it harder to to sew with 3 layers.

Thanks for the tip. I did think about doing the zip slightly smaller than the length of the cushion to avoid this.

If the zip is at the narrow end of the cover, then you'll need enuf of an opening the get the cushion to go down ,but you cd do the last few stitches by hand after you get it inserted. What color is the fabric and the piping?

Very smart, Frances !Love the matching crochet cushions. So satisfying making things! You can tell visitors to take a pew.
