painting kitchen cupboards

Hi, my kitchen cupboards are cream and absolutely battered! They have had years of child locks on them and the kitchen drawer front has now had to be bolted on!
The whole kitchen needs a refresh. I'm going to paint a feature wall in Dulux Overtly Olive with the other walls Dulux Jurassic Stone.
I want to paint the cupboards a very pale grey, maybe with a hint of olive if I can find it but if not a pale grey.
Laura Ashley furniture paint has 2 greys- is their paint any good for kitchen cupboards? I've looked at the chalkpaint range in Homebase and the colours are all too dark.
Any suggestions? Thanks

If you a robust paint finish then get satinwood paint - the benefits of gloss without the high sheen and you can wash it down. Comes in lots of colours and you can have it custom mixed in a DIY store or a Dulux Decorator centre.

Wilkinsons do some really nice furniture paint. We've recently used the duck egg blue on our kitchen cupboards and they look beautiful.

Paints I would recommend for painting a kitchen:
Little Greene Intelligent Eggshell. If you want a colour recommendation, Slaked Lime, Linen Wash or White Lead would probably go well with Overtly Olive and Jurassic Stone. I wouldn't go for more green.
Sikkens BL Rubbol - can be tinted to a wide variety of colours

Paints I would not recommend:
Laura Ashley
anything called Chalk paint
A cheap own brand from a DIY shed
Farrow and Ball's water based eggshell

Agree with pp about anything with 'chalk paint' on it! However, I have just discovered Autentico Eggshell, which behaves like chalk paint but doesn't finish or look like chalk paint - have just used on kitchen cupboards and it's fab.

Previously tried Annie Sloan and Rustoleum Chalk paints and both were terrible.
