moved into 1905 terrace in september, bought lovely bedding (bluebellgray mode) to cheer myself up as house needs a lot of work, then opened up bedroom fireplace to find original tiles. Now stuck on what colour to paint the room that is ok with both. Also need curtain colour. Room is large and light so I think could take most colours, but curtains need to be quite neutral as they will be made to measure (large window) and therefore have to last! Is this an impossible task? Even if I didn't have the bedding, not sure what colour curtains/walls I would have gone for.....

It looks as though there is a sagey green in both...maybe a blue/grey, paler than the wall colour would work.

Do you know anyone with a colour wheel, or do you have an art/craft shop nearby? They are cheap to buy and can save time and money when trying to choose colours.

All greens have a blue hue, so you should be able to find a blue that will be fine. Buy some match pots and paint big sheets of paper - I use a roll of lining paper as it is only a couple of pounds - and stick them on various parts of the wall. Then you can see what each colour looks like in full sun and shade.

Sounds like a pfaff but it has served us making a few big colour mistakes over the last year Smile
