Nice scented candles that don't cost a fortune?

When we were both working pre-kids DH used to buy me gorgeous pricey candles every Christmas, I loved them. They're a bit of an indulgence too far now, but can anyone recommend some more affordable ones?

Yankee do a at home range in asda which are quite abit cheaper than the jars. IKEA candles always smell lovely too

The Country Candle Company is lovely. I only use cardamom and gardenia now but they do lovely festive ones too.

& Other Stories do lovely candles - about £20 each. Not cheap but not Diptyque prices either.

the glade ones are not nearly as big or as nice as some of the "luxury" ones but they do smell (unlike a lot of the other candles mis-sold as scented).

And you could try Fragonard at M&S? Limited scents but good quality.

Try Village Candles if you can find them...we scored some in Home Bargains last year and they are basically knock off Yankee...smelled gorgeous.

White Company Cassis is one of my favourites. They are £20 for a single wick, and they often have 20% off.

I used to buy party lite candles but am on a budget now, I love the grey ikea ones and they're 85p!

YY to the ones from Home Bargain type places. They last ages & smell really nice. The Glade ones are nice but don't last as long, being much smaller.

Echo Sainsury's - they are lovely

I second the glade ones! They are brilliant. Around 30 hours burning time, they burn all the way, nothing left over and they smell amazing! They are in Tesco for £2 instead of £5, and the smells/choices are lovely.

Fed up with expensive Yankee candles or any other candles that claim to be scented, when they aren't. They smell nicer in the packaging than when burning. After many years of trying to find the nicest smelling candles, I finally have!

I always post on candle threads to recommend Isle of Skye candles. They smell divine, not of sickly chemicals.

You can't beat IKEA - 85p a candle & they smell amazing! I have a cranberry one burning now Grin

Get thee to TK Maxx. I got some 'This Works' Christmas scented candles reduced for £25 to £12 last week. Gorgeous and premium quality.

I always post 'woodwick' on these threads. Gorgeous candles, crackle when lit and actually smell whilst burning. From about 25-25 pounds so not cheap but they do last well

I second Isle of Skye candles, they have a really nice scent and I find they can last longer than other ones too.

Candles are lovely but the good ones can be so expensive.
I find the burners can be very good value. Try to find a not too hideous one, and buy some melts. You can get lots of lovely ones. The Yankee ones are good. They last ages and you get a more concentrated fragrance.

I have just discovered a candle range called McKelvie Candles.
Received a few for Christmas and a reed difuser and they are fab, with traditional Scottish fragrances.
Eriskay Love and Cherry Lips are heavenly!
