What Colour Walls?

I'm really struggling with wall paint colour and would appreciate any suggestions.

The fireplaces looks quite like this www.geffrye-museum.org.uk/explore-the-geffrye/period_rooms/drawing-room-1910/ the curtains are an emerald/bottle green velvet, the floor is dark brown and furniture is up for negotiation. There are lots of windows and it gets the sun most of the day.

I tend to prefer strong, deep colours but am open to anything
