Living room furniture

Hi

I am looking for some nice living room furniture and can't find anything within budget at all!
Ideally I can't spend more than £300 for the whole set and I think this is the problem!

I am looking for a tv cabinet/stand and possibly a small sideboard type thing and maybe a lamp table if space allows! In other words not huge pieces but enough to put tv on and stand a lamp or store a few things in. I may just need a combination of two of the above though!

Also, do most people have coffee tables or do they just get in the way? I have large dogs that take up most of the room!

The room is a mix of brown/red/cream and I like rustic looking items (ie, want wood!) but not white and I would like them to match or at least compliment each other.

Any ideas?!

£300 doesn't go very far for new furniture.

We bought an oak tv corner unit on eBay for £120. It goes with our other furniture which we bought new for £££. If you are patient, stuff will come up. I've found loads of bargains. Grin

Gumtree is pretty good too. We've just moved and got a nice oak chest and sideboard for £100 each. Bought locally so picked up in hours!

I would look on Gumtree too, furniture is expensive and second hand is probably the way to go if you like rustic.

If you want new The Cotswold Company may be worth a look, they do a lot of wood and are not too pricey.

Within budget it will have to be second hand.

With that sort of budget I would be hunting in the charity shops and buying a tin of annie sloan chalk paint.

Any of these any good? You could get at least some of what you want within budget. The stuff i've had from them has been great.

We've dispensed with a big coffee table due to big dog/small child. I miss it sometimes when we have visitors, but otherwise prefer the space - the room is not large though.
