Empire chandelier DIY help please!

I want to revamp my existing light fitting as I really don't like it and want something brighter and more modern. this is what it looks like now. I want to try and make it into an empire chandelier

Thought about attaching a ring at the top (how??) and a basket underneath then strings of beads or crystal drops between the two. Id also spray paint the frame white so it blends in with the ceiling (or to match the beads).

Decided to go more simple and paint it white and add chains of chandelier beads - hope it looks good!
