Victorian fireplace-electric fire?

I live in a victorian flat with victorian fireplaces -unfortunately the chimney can't be used so I can't have a real fire...I've looked online to try to find an electric fire which would fit but they all seem to be too big to fit into the victorian detail surround if that makes sense... Has anyone had a similar experience and found success? would love the look of the 'fire' for decoration but really don't want to spend the earth....please could someone point me in the right direction? Smile

Do you have gas in the flat? If so you could consider a flu-less catalytic converter fire. You would not need to use the chimney, but the fire would fit in the fireplace.
