and what paint have you used?

We sanded ours down (well, OH did), then coated with one layer of white primer, then 3 coats of Laura Ashley kitchen paint.

It was hard, and took ages - we have 16 cupboard doors and 7 drawer fronts, plus the end of the cabinets and a couple of shelves too. Took the best part of a week.

Sorry, forgot to say - it looks gorgeous though! And I'm very proud of the hard work we put in. Everyone comments on how nice they look.

If you have the time, do it yourself (properly, like Visualise), but otherwise, price up buying new doors, as getting a professional to paint them will be ££££s.

We rang a local car body shop where they mend crashed and dented cars and they sprayed them for us.....might be worth asking?

sounds like a big job then
don't want to get new doors really as they are nice solid oak ones

LeChatRouge i take it you supplied the paint for them , how much did they charge?

There are companies around who specialise in re-spraying kitchen units doors, have a look on-line and in your Yellow Pages, think this is prob easier and cheaper than having them re-painted.

The thing that I would take into account if you have them sprayed if you then want to touch them up you will really notice the brush marks
You could use Annie Sloan chalk paint ,then wax them with her wax or this paint:

Elegant Aqua Lackfargsgrund
We have had it coloured in a farrow and ball colour, really easy to apply and dead easy to wash out your brushes.
