Ok all those Maldives lovers - where did you stay?

Bandos, albeit 10 years ago. Not a swish as most of the islands, but white sand, clear blue sea and good diving so we were happy.

Been 13 times, best we thought was Lily Beach but lots more opened since then.

Reethi Rah, 13 years ago before it went upmarket.

It was bliss we stayed in water bungalows, it was amazing watching little sharks swim under our feet. The beach was beautiful we had our stretch of beach completely to ourselves every day of our holiday. It was like spending two weeks in a Bounty advert.

I have been to some beautiful beaches since but I can honestly say that none of them can rival the Maldives.

Reethi Beach resort. FANTASTIC - you have to get a sea plane, which is magical. Not uber luxurious (by Maldavian standards) but certainly very, VERY nice. Isolated and beautiful.

We adored it, staff, rooms and food all excellent.

Only stopped going because of DS, can't wait till he is old enough to go again ....

Been three times and stayed at Bandos each time.
Really like the fact that it is close to Male, only around 15 minutes transfer unlike some of the other islands. Also, has a medical centre and FREE kids club from age 8 months.
Diving is fabulous, excellent house reef and lots of boat dives available.
Last time we went was Christmas 2007 but hoping to go back next year.

Lily Beach and Meeru. LB definitely my favourite.

Baros. Good value for the quality. It's close to Male. Not for kids though. Been to Full Moon too but that's too big I think. Fancy the Banyan Tree cos the one here is fab.

Veligandu for our honeymoon, 3 years ago.
Absolutely gorgeous, food was amazing, accommodation was luxurious and the beach was beautiful.

Athuruga back in 2002. Italian run so awesome food - either Fabulous Italian dishes or Maldivian with lots of fresh seafood.

It was our honeymoon and I still, when a quiet moment arises, sit back and dream again. I hope to return one day.
