We stayed here:
www.quintaroja.com
It's in Garachico, alovely town on the north coast.

This is meant to be nice:

It's more package holidayish than the above, but the poshest sort.

If you want south coast, which is where all the big resorts are, google costa adeje for several 5 star hotels.

we stayed in Riu Adeje (2 years ago) which I think was 4star. I wouldn't say its a beautiful hotel, but the food is good and the facilities for kids were excellent. The riu website is www.riu.com. The posher, newer area nearby is Playa del Dulque which really is nice but pricey

We're going back for the 3rd time (unheard of for us) to this hotel - laid back and not at all stressful.

We stayed here Sheraton La Caleta a couple of years ago - it had a lovely kids club that you could either leave them or stay, a separate kids pool away from the rest, and lots of room around the resort. The beach is black though, which might put kids off, although there is a "normal" sandy beach outside the del Duque hotels. Lovely restaurants if you turn right out of the back of the hotel and head for la Caleta across the sea front...

Abama is absolutely amazing. Upper end of 5 star but so worth the money, very child friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to go back there.
