Anyone travelled to Spain recently with teenagers?

Hi,

I am confused with the covid test requirements for over 12 to travel to Spain. I asked here before and they said only PCR, Lamp Test 48 hours before arrival; however after reading a bit more I found that it says PCR/LAMP within 72 hours or antigens 48 hours before arrival?

Can anyone advice which one is correct please?

Thank you

We've recently returned from Spain with a teen. Before leaving the UK we had to get her a PCR test within 48 hours of arrival in Spain, meaning we had to pay more for it and get same day turnaround. That was after we'd booked and paid for an antigen test as they changed the rules the day after! I don't know if anything has changed since but do keep checking on the Spanish authorities websites. For us it was the Canaries which may differ from mainland.

Same for us, we live close to an airport, so I took DD there for a drive-through LAMP test with Collinson. I went for this because it had the quickest turn around (2 hours). Those PCR ones that take 48 hours are just not realistic in the timescale, because the test has to be taken within 48 hours of arrival. Although they are OK for the day 2 test when you get back because it doesn't matter when the results come back for that one.

I found it all way too stressful though to properly enjoy our holiday. Just thinking about sorting out the testing and waiting for the results is making me stressed, and we're safely back home now!

Thank you. Yes, it is stressful. Information is so confusing.

Do they ask for the test before flying in the UK or arriving in Spain?

Hi there. I am due to travel to Spain soon and am also very confused as to what package I will need to book for my three children aged 15 , 14 and 5! Mainland Spain. Assuming you have perhaps purchased kits could you advise what ones are needed? Thanks

Thank you so much for your reply. So did your daughter just require the one test?

If you’re near an airport I booked my teens 3 hr express pcr at Manchester airport

Was pricey at £95 each but results came back in 1.5 hours so saved the stress!

Thanks for your response. Did the teens or yourself have to test in Spain before flying back to the uk also?
