Green list Day 2 test on return to the UK

Hi all,

I will need to do a Day 2 test only on arrival back to the UK from a green list country. I don’t want to travel miles to find a Randox Drop Box as we live rurally. Want as cheap a test as possible but would like to return it via the Royal Mail Priority Mailbox (there is one in our local village and I used it before when I needed to return a PCR test a number of months ago).

Could anyone advise please. Randox are coming up cheapest but their nearest drop box is 45 mins drive away.

I have gone with Breathe Assured - will be a video call thing. I can't tell you how it was because I haven't done it yet! They seem very organised so far!!

It’s horribly confusing isn’t it! I have found Dante Labs. They are £49 and use the Royal Mail Priority Mailbox and there are 1000’s of them.

Next question is do I order this before I leave the UK. There will be someone at the house for any deliveries.

I think you order it before you leave - and then they send it to arrive in time for you to take it. I am no expert, I am fumbling along! I have found out Day 0 is the day you get back to the UK, so bear that in mind when working out Day 2!

It is probably too late now, but you can send randox back by royal mail. Of course you need to pay.... Yes, order before go,or while you are there. I don't think it makes much difference.

Apparently the day 2 test doesn't have to be done on day 2, it's any time before day 2, so there are some companies offering them at the airport. They're more expensive though, so will probably go with the ones that we can do at home because there's no urgency to get the results back, unlike if you have to do a test in the 48 hours before you fly out.

Haven't even booked yet - agonising over whether to book Majorca, need to make a decision today really.

It's the cost of the testing and the 'unknown' factor of not really knowing what I''m doing with the testing that is putting me off.

Hopefully you're not in Scotland like myself and ordered a Randox day 2 test to find out the Scottish Govt uses one approved company only. £43 down the drain.

Hi @Trenisenne, I just wanted to check if that is true that Royal Mail priority post boxes will work with the returning of Randox sample? I'm in the same situation that I need to get my samples off quickly, but don't live anywhere near a sample box.
